Amy Smith, Owner/Head trainer

National Dog Trainers Federation (NDTF) qualified trainer (2019)
Certified Family Dog Mediator® (2024)
Member of the International Association of Canine Professionals

Amy's introduction to scent work started when the teeny package of chaos that is Comet came charging into her world. Comet arrived scared and anxious, knowing nothing other than the need to defend himself fiercely in the only way he knew how – with his teeth!

Amy and Comet attended a local K9 Nose Work® class with the wonderful John Sam, and were immediately hooked, still training (and now working) with John today. Comet was able to tap into his natural instinct and desire to hunt and all the worries of his world faded away while he played this wonderful game.

Amy and Comet are now successfully trialing in scent work games, and she has started working with her young dog Cricket with a view to trialing with her in the future.

Amy is heavily invested in all things dog training and in 2019 studied and qualified with the National Dog Trainers Federation. She believes in continuing her own learning and regularly undertakes further education courses and attends seminars and workshops to keep up to date with what’s happening in the dog training industry as a whole. Amy is still very interested in helping others achieve their relationship and training goals through more structured behaviour modification and obedience training, but her focus now is providing a safe and inclusive space for people to access one of the most fun things we can do with our dogs. Scent Work!!

Amy wishes for all dogs and their humans to experience the improved relationship, confidence, teamwork, freedom and joy that comes through playing scent work games.
